In a typical Little Stars kindergarten the children start in the morning playing together and learning the alphabet or numbers in Nepali and English. Wherever possible we employ a cook who prepares a tasty and nourishing meal at lunchtime. Many children eat with their fingers as they do at home but some use a spoon.
Since we always try to have a working water supply at every kindergarten, the children can wash their hands thouroughly and brush their teeth after lunch.
We operate kindergartens in our project villages Okharpauwa, Balchaur and Kimtang. This provides initial education to 3 to 5 year old kids and makes it possible for the older children in the family to go to school instead of staying at home to look after their younger brothers and sisters. This is so very important to make sure no child is denied access to school education.
