Article 26 (1) of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Everyone has the right to education.
Poverty and poor education are closely linked. The absence of education often means that poverty is passed down through the generations.
Education is a human right and every child has the right to school education. Despite this there are millions of young people and adults around the world who cannot read or write.
Providing school education to girls and boys is a powerful tool for sustainable help for self-help. Education lays the foundation for social and economic development.
This is why providing education is one of the key issues of our work in Nepal. We support schools and run kindergartens and since 2016 a vocational training centre. Our educational programmes give disadvantaged children from needy families the chance to attend kindergarten and school.
